A need for the large population of seniors in Newark, New Jersey, that do not want to move from the city they lived in for years.
New tax assessments are driving seniors out of Newark and the need for this type of housing is evident. It was programmed to have a doctor’s office, hair dresser, and a small 7-11 type shop. It also has well as a dining hall, full service kitchen, and a laundry service. Outdoor space was achieved by introducing a large patio over the entrance lobby, and large balconies in the 2nd and 3rd floor and setting the building back to still provide a front yard.
