Len founded Cubellis in Boston in 1986. Under his leadership, Cubellis has grown from 20 associates into an integrated, multidisciplinary architecture, interior design and engineering firm of over 400 employees. Utilizing Len’s initial seeding of a culture of empowerment and its unique “growing big by staying small” hands-on expansion strategy, the firm has successfully established offices across the U.S. and now, globally. Today, Cubellis’ international presence includes a Middle East office in Dubai, U.A.E., with planned expansion activity underway that will bring the firm to India and the Far East. With the goal of becoming a top global firm and industry leader in the firm’s practice areas — the strategy is bearing fruit. Under Len’s leadership, Cubellis is continuously ranked in national publications as a top architectural and interior design firm and best place to work. Responsible for tens of millions of square feet of retail, workplace, academic, hospitality, and government/municipal design, and thousands of units of residential design, Cubellis is demonstrating the success of its “international expertise, local knowledge” business model of bringing practice area expertise to the local level. Prior to founding Cubellis, Len was Lead Architect at Carlson Associates where he worked on numerous Boston area corporate design projects in addition to major international undertakings. Len holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and attended the Tenische Universitat in Vienna, Austria with renowned architect Rob Krier. He is a winner of the Sam Walton Community Participation Award for his work in revitalizing Onset, Massachusetts.
