James E. Trant, P.E., S.E. is a Principal of Structural Engineering in the Boston office at Cubellis. With over 30-years experience, Mr. Trant has been responsible for the design of millions of square feet of retail, residential and commercial buildings throughout the eastern half of the United States. He was formerly responsible for the professional practice of a national architecture and engineering firm and garnered a reputation for excellence in the engineering community. He is a licensed professional or structural engineer in 24 states and is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Massachusetts, the American Society for Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Institute of Steel Construction, the American Concrete Institute and is a past Chair of the Council of American Structural Engineers (ACEC). In 2001, he was appointed to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Designer Selection Board where he served for over 3 years. He has been an active member of the NCEES Structural Exam Committee since 1997. He earned his Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering as well as his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
